A Number Of Easy Home Remedies For Ear Mites In Pets

There are several home remedies ear mites will hate, but you will love. Pets often shake their heads and scratch their ears when the very tiny ear mites invade their ears. Since the mites are very contagious, if you have more than one pet in the home, all pets should be treated.

First look into the pets ears, if there is wax build up with tiny black specks, then it is mites. Start by cleaning the ears, with vegetable, mineral, or olive oil. Use an eyedropper or a medicine syringe, without a needle, to put the oil into the canal of the ear, try to keep the pet still. Then massage the ear thoroughly to loosen any deeply impacted ear mite dirt. Now clean out the ears with a cotton ball, a cotton swab can be used, but you have to make sure that the pet does not make any sudden moves and push the swab into the canal of the ear.

Ear cleaning can also be done with a diluted solution of water and vinegar, one part vinegar to 2 parts water. The vinegar and water will also help clean the ear as well as treat the mite problem. Still another formula to clean pet’s ears is alcohol and peroxide, in equal amounts. The procedure is the same in all of the cleaning methods, put cleaner in the pets ears, massage and wipe with cotton balls. The Vinegar, alcohol or peroxide method should not be used if the ears are sore or ulcerated, as it will sting.

After cleaning the pet’s ears, then a regiment of corn oil or mineral oil can be started. Almond oil or olive oil mixed with vitamin E can also be used, 1/2 once of the almond or olive oil to 400 IU of vitamin E. The oil should be put into the pet’s ears . As with the cleaning, the pet’s ears are then massaged. Apply every other day for six days, then skip 3 days and repeat for 6 wks. The oil treatment smothers the mites and helps with healing.

Yellow dock root extract is yet another option. 1TBS of water should be mixed with a few (9) drops of yellow dock root extract. Continue this treatment every two days, until all the pets ears are mite free.

Yet another method is by crushing 4 garlic cloves in a cup of olive oil, steep over night. In the morning discard the garlic, heat the oil to it is warm to the touch and place in pets ears and massage. This treatment should be done for a month.

Whatever home remedies ear mites will not stand a chance and you and your pet will be much happier.

Alright let’s look at food allergies. The most usual sign for dog food allergies is that your dog will scratch a lot. If you see your pet scratching, licking or even chewing themselves constantly, it is a pretty sure symptom of dog allergies. Some possible triggers for this kind of reactions can be the food they are eating. A quick way to test this out is to systematically remove each dog food ingredient until the symptoms disappears. This helps you to isolate the cause of the dog food allergies.
